Florida Undergraduate Research Conference
February 22-23, 2020
The Florida Undergraduate Research Conference (FURC) is one of the nation's largest multi-disciplinary research conferences. It is an annual event open to all undergraduate researchers in the state of Florida to present their research in a poster forum. Every year, the conference is hosted at a different college or university in the state. The conference boasts some of the best networking opportunities with fellow researchers and graduate programs across the country, as well as workshops and other professional development experiences.

Florida Undergraduate Research Posters at the Capitol

We are looking forward to the second Florida Undergraduate Research Posters at the Capitol in downtown Tallahassee from January 19-20th, 2022!
Running for its second year, Florida Undergraduate Research Posters at the Capitol is an opportunity for four students from each FURA Institutional Member to share their dynamic and engaging undergraduate research and connect with Florida representatives. Students learn more about the political process and how to advocate for undergraduate research at the local and state governmental level.

Day Two at a Glance
January 20, 9:00-10:00 AM: Poster Set-up at Capitol (on Plaza, 2nd, and 3rd floors of the Capitol)
January 20, 10-12 PM: Poster Presentations (on Plaza, 2nd, and 3rd floors of the Capitol)
January 20, 12:00 PM: Meet in between new and old Capitol for group photo and farewell!
January 20, 12:30-1:30 PM: Lunch on own at the Capitol cafeteria or downtown TLH
January 20, 1:30-5:00 PM: Optional Meetings with Representatives; Museum Tours; Exploring Tallahassee

Parking

Parking for the event is available downtown, if needed.

If you will need to park downtown, we suggest parking in Kleman Plaza, 306 S Duval St, Tallahassee, FL 32301. This is a parking garage located within walking distance to the Capitol. Parking starts at $2.00 for the first hour and increases $1.00 per hour up to a maximum of $7.00.

Poster Presentation

Each institution will be responsible for printing their students’ posters. We will be providing tripod easels with a cardboard backing that can accommodate a poster of 48” x 36”

Please be at the Capitol by 9 AM to help us set up for the poster presentations, which officially begin at 10:00 AM

Everyone will need to pass through security to enter the Capitol building

Dress Code

Please dress at least business casual for the poster presentation session, but preferably business professional

We will be assigning students to where they will be presenting in the Capitol (i.e. Plaza and the House and Senate sides of the second and third floor rotundas)

Immediately After Presentations

We will be having be assembling outside of the Capitol between the Capitol entrance and the Old Historic Capitol stairs to take a group photo and officially sign off so you can explore Tallahassee!

- There is a Cafe in the Capitol building on the north side of the Lower Level. In addition, there is a snack cafe on the 10th Floor that has ample food options available.
